From downtown Grand Rapids, take I-96 E. at the Cascade Road SE exit. Take E. Paris Road SE to Burton Street SE. The clinic will be on your left.

From the south, drive northwest on M-7N/Broadmoor Ave SE. In three miles, turn right onto Swank Drive E. and continue to E. Paris Road SE. Turn right onto Burton Street SE and find the clinic on your left.

From the west, take Exit 64 from I-196 onto M-6 for about 20 miles. Turn left onto M-7N/Broadmoor Avenue SE. In three miles, turn right onto Swank Drive E. and continue to E. Paris Road SE. Turn right onto Burton Street SE.

Meet Dr. Kelsey

Laura Kelsey, MD, is a vein specialist with vast experience in using minimally invasive procedures to help patients overcome symptoms of venous disease, including leg pain, swelling, cramping, varicose veins, restless legs, ulcers, and more. Having spent most of her life in Michigan, she is a proud, active member of the Grand Rapids community. She is the lead physician in CVR’s Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Muskegon, Michigan, vein clinic locations.

Dr. Kelsey speaks English and Spanish.

Dr. Kelsey earned her medical degree at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and is board certified in General Surgery. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Vein & Lymphatic Society, American Venous Forum, American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, and Kent County Medical Society.

“Although I enjoy all facets of my practice, my special interest outside the treatment of superficial venous disease continues to be the prevention of venous thromboembolic events (vein conditions where a blood clot forms in a vein). Symptoms of vein problems

When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart it can be a sign of venous disease.

The result can be:

• Leg pain

• Itching

• Swelling

• Cramping,

• Varicose veins

• Spider veins

• Feelings of heaviness

• Skin discoloration

• Ulcers

These symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive, meaning it will get worse without treatment.

Vein treatment options

Vein care providers at vein treatment clinics use the most advanced minimally invasive treatments available today. CVR’s modern outpatient treatment plans are far superior to the older vein-stripping methods used in the past.

Treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing agent that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip, which destroys the diseased vein.

At Center for Vein Restoration we offer a wide variety of other treatment options including:

Vein treatments take approximately an hour or less to complete, and patients can return to their normal routine immediately with few restrictions. No staples or stitches are required because a simple band-aid covers the tiny incisions. Our in-office treatment requires only local anesthetics and recovery and symptom relief are fast, and there is little to no scarring.
